This year’s celebration will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Memorial Grove. The Grove is located on the George Washington Memorial Parkway between the 14th Street and Memorial bridges. Directions can be found at http://www.nps.gov/lyba/planyourvisit/directions.htm. In celebration of President Lyndon Johnson’s 107th birthday, Bill McSweeny, a Special Assistant to President Johnson, as well as an award-winning author and celebrated Washingtonian, will deliver the keynote remarks. Lucinda Robb, President Johnson’s granddaughter, will provide remarks on behalf of the Johnson family This annual event is free for all TSS members and their guests. However, due to space limitations, registration is requested. Following the ceremony, refreshments, including sugar cookies, pimento cheese sandwiches and lemonade will be served. We hope you will be able to join us on August 22.
