Public Forums

This site makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its members. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information. Members are discouraged from disclosing personal information when using these features.

Comments posted by individual members do not necessarily reflect the opinions or values of The Texas State Society. We reserve the right to withdraw inappropriate comments posted by members.

Advertisers

We use an outside ad company to display ads on our site. These ads may contain cookies. While we use cookies in other parts of our Web site, cookies received with banner ads are collected by our ad company, and we do not have access to this information.

Membership Registration

Our site's registration form requires members to give us contact information (name, e-mail, and postal address) and other demographic information (zip code and school type).  We collect demographics on Membership Applications in order to better serve our members. Upon signup, users may opt-out of the member directory by using the appropriate checkboxes to not display information.

Each member will be assigned a unique username, which will be the member's e-mail address.

As a Member, your email address may be used for one of the following purposes:

• To email your password to you if you have forgotten
• To authenticate you upon logon
• To send you information about your membership such as a welcome message upon signup, membership dues due notice, event signup notification, etc. 
• To send you notices of Texas State Society events or promotions
• To send you an e-mail newsletter

Cookies

The only place on the site where we use cookies is for our Members-only member board  to provide the convenience of not having to re-enter your password when you are using the board.

Customer Information

Upon signing up for an event, or selecting to become a member,  we require personal information (like name, email address, and mailing address and phone number). This information may be used for several reasons:

• To validate your purchase with our payment processor
• To ship tickets to you or contact you regarding an event
• To contact you if there is an issue with your membership or event purchase

This information will not be provided to a third party for any reason, except our payment processor to validate your transaction.   For the safety and security of our customers, we do NOT maintain a credit-card database on our web server. Repeat customers must re-enter their credit card information for new purchases.

IP Addresses

We collect IP addresses on membership board submissions to the site.
